Preparation
The Android device and the Bluetooth™ watch need to be paired and connected before TransiCast can send departure information, alarms and next stop information to the Bluetooth™ watch. For instructions about pairing the devices, please refer to the respective user manuals of the devices. After the devices have been paired, they need to be connected. This is accomplished by a third party app such as OpenWatch from smartmadsoft, which is available in the Android Market. Please note that OpenWatch only supports Android 2.0 or later. The following picture shows a paired and connected Bluetooth™ watch, indicated by the blue OpenWatch notification status bar icon. TransiCast will not be able to send data to the Bluetooth™ watch unless the watch is paired and connected.
Departures
Departures are sent to the Bluetooth™ watch through the TransiCast dynamic app widget. As soon as the TransiCast app widget starts, it sends updates to the Bluetooth™ connected watch. These updates are sent every four seconds if the estimated departure time of the next departure is below the alarm threshold.
Alarms
When an alarm is set and the alarm threshold reached, TransiCast sends an alarm to the Bluetooth™ connected watch.
Next Stops
When tracking the next stop on a route, TransiCast sends the next stop information to the Bluetooth™ connected watch.
